Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950 Xtreme Gaming 2GB Overclocking Results

Gigabyte's overclocking software, OC Guru II, is nowhere near as slick as MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X but it did allow us to increase the available voltage. We set the power limit, temperature limit and voltage offsets to their maximum values: 108 percent, 95°C and 0.1V respectively.

With these settings, the card remained stable up to a base clock of 1,253MHz (a 50MHz or 4 percent overclock), giving us a boost clock of 1,455MHz and an actual clock speed under load of just under 1,550MHz. Somewhat disappointingly, this is actually the lowest base clock we've managed of the three GTX 950s we've reviewed, although in fairness the actual boost speeds of all three were very similar.

The Samsung memory chips remained functional at 8GHz effective, though beyond this we started to see serious visual artifacts. This is a strong 14 percent overclock, or 21 percent compared to the stock speed of 6.6GHz.
